While we were in the early stages of brainstorming about what exactly we wanted this business to be, we spent much of that time on what we wanted from it. Of course, we would have to turn a profit to stay in business but it was always more than creating just another company that puts profit over people.
Desco Collective was founded with simple, core values; Everyone deserves access to equitable and affordable goods and services, no matter what those goods or services are, to design your life with products you can trust. Both my partner and I have always held strong to this belief.
The second deciding factor in what this company would become was our belief system of how others should be treated and how we allow ourselves to be treated in our work, and these two things are what inspired us to build a business based on respect and care for all people.
